Universiteit Antwerpen

The University of Antwerp is a young and dynamic Belgian university. It was founded in 2003 after the merger of the three universities of Antwerp. The roots of UAntwerp go back to 1852. Nowadays UAntwerp has nine faculties, a host of centres and institutes, several decision-making and advisory bodies and eleven central departments, spread over six campuses located all over the city of Antwerp. The Institute for Environment and Sustainable Development of the University of Antwerp (IMDO), combines expertise from the various disciplines on the environment and sustainable development. It is active in education and research. IMDO has a pronounced interdisciplinary and transversal focus, and wants to make an active contribution to the transition to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable society and economy. The institute hosts the Master ‘Think Water’, a programme in Water Sustainability: integrating technology and nature-based solutions, the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Applied Ecohydrology (MAEH) and the Master in Environmental Sciences.
